What We Collect
ClassroomDash collects only the data necessary to provide classroom management features. This includes:
- Student first names, last names, and school-assigned ID numbers
- Hall pass logs (type, time out, time in, duration)
- Attendance records (tardy, early leave)
- Teacher account information via Google Sign-In (name, email, profile photo)
How Data Is Stored
All data is stored in a Supabase cloud database hosted in US East (Virginia). Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and encrypted at rest on the server.
Who Can Access It
Only the teacher who created the classroom can access student data within that classroom. ClassroomDash developers do not access student data unless required for technical support, and only with the teacher's knowledge.
No Selling or Sharing
Student data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. Period.
Data Retention
Teachers can delete their classroom data at any time from within the app. Data is retained only while the teacher's account is active. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed.
FERPA Compliance
ClassroomDash is designed to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Student data is used solely for legitimate educational purposes under the school official exception. Teachers are responsible for ensuring their use of ClassroomDash aligns with their school or district's data privacy policies.
COPPA
ClassroomDash does not collect data directly from students under 13. All student data is entered by the teacher or scanned via school-issued ID cards. Students do not create accounts or input personal information.
